The Vice President of the congregation is established by the church constitution and bylaws. The Vice President is an officer of the congregation and sits on the Executive Committee along with the President, Secretary and Treasurer.

This elected position on the Congregation Council largely assists the President in his duties and in his absence becomes the chief administrator for the congregation which includes presiding over meetings and committees.

Primary charges include responsibilities such as:

• Preside over the Members Committee.
  
• As chairperson of the Members Committee develops, implements, and monitors programs to help integrate new members into the active life of this congregation, as well as to meet the needs of its current members.
  
• Serve as an advocate for current members and encourage them to maintain active congregational involvement.
  
• Willing to undertake a training program to acquire a working knowledge of the constitution, its bylaws and the current activities of this congregation.
  
• Willing to work toward a thorough knowledge of each family situation in this congregation.
  

The Vice President should be reliable, dedicated, bondable, and willing and able to spend the required time to carry out the responsibilities of this position and be accessible and able to communicate with members of this congregation and have some management experience and understanding of financial statements and budgets.
