The President of the congregation is established by the church constitution and bylaws. The President is an officer of the congregation and sits on the Executive Committee along with the Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

This elected position on the Congregation Council oversees all aspects of church business including operational and personnel oversight.

Primary charges include responsibilities such as:

• Establish and implement a yearly business plan to fulfill the needs and desires of the congregation.
  
• Approve, monitor, and implement the necessary financial controls to ensure the expenditures are properly allocated within the actual income.
  
• Ensure that all business is conducted in accordance with the constitution.
  
• Ensure that the purposes of the congregation, per its mission and charter, are fulfilled.
  
• Review officer training materials and lesson plans.
  
• Ensure that officers are properly trained prior to installation.
  
• Preside over the Executive Committee.
  

The President is bonded and together with the Secretary and Treasurer is able to sign all legal documents authorized by the congregation in behalf of the congregation.

The President should be reliable, dedicated, bondable, and willing and able to spend the required time to carry out the responsibilities of this position and should have some management experience and some understanding of financial statements and budgets.
