The Director of Social Ministry of the congregation is established by the church constitution and bylaws.

This elected position on the Congregation Council oversees all programs, initiatives and acts of Christian ministering to people within the congregation and in the general community.

Primary charges include responsibilities such as:

• Maintain the importance of social ministry to the total person in the eyes of this congregation.
  
• Seek ways and means of closer cooperation with all people of good will in responding to situations, problems and needs of the community.
  
• Catalog the many opportunities for social ministry.
  
• Encourage the people of this congregation to become involved in community affairs.
  
• Preside over the Social Ministry Committee.
  

The director should be reliable, dedicated, and concerned that the expression of the Gospel is carried out in word and deed for all people in all situations and conditions and be willing to learn the opportunities that exist for social ministry.
