The Worship and Music Committee of the congregation is established by the church constitution and bylaws and is presided over by the Director of Worship and Music.

The purpose of the Worship and Music Committee is to advise, help and support the Director of Worship and Music who oversees and promotes all aspects of worship in the Lutheran tradition ensuring that

1. God's word is preached in its purity
   
2. The sacraments are administered properly
   
3. Prayer and praise is central
   

Primary responsibilities of the Director of Worship and Music (supported by this committee) include:

• Maintain the importance of a faithful worship life in the eyes of this congregation.
  
• Recruit and enlist whatever auxiliary help is necessary, e.g., Altar Guild, Ushers, Readers, Assisting Ministers, etc.
  
• Work closely with the pastor, choir director, and organist in planning and implementing a well-rounded worship life.
  
• Ensure significant lay involvement in the worship experience of this congregation.
  
• Ensure that the rich Lutheran worship heritage is known and experienced by this congregation.
  

Members of this committee serve in an advisory capacity and have no official say or vote on the Congregation Council; although, members can research issues, discuss and make recommendations to the Director of Worship and Music to take to the Congregation Council for vote, authorization or to make policy. Members of this committee generally assist the director as needed and appropriate.
