The Christianity is relational and there is so much said about the importance of relationship between adults and youth.

Secret Buddies form "secret" relationships with youth as they go through their Confirmation classes. They stay in contact with them throughout the year by means of communication, letters and/or gifts to help guide youth in their Christian growth and to start to form adult relationships with others in the congregation. Secret Buddies are revealed at the end of each Confirmation year.

If you feel called to be an adult mentor for the next generation join this group. Someone can benefit from your perspective and experience. You can consider the following scripture to help guide you as a Christian mentor:

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior…They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women…Likewise, urge the younger men to be self‑controlled.
(Titus 2:3–6)

This is the clearest biblical picture of adult mentorship — older believers teaching younger ones through example and relationship.

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
(1 Timothy 4:12)

Paul reminds Timothy that youth can lead by example, but this happens best when older believers nurture and affirm them.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
(Proverbs 22:6)

Mentorship begins early — guiding youth toward lifelong faith and maturity.

One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.
(Psalm 145:4)

Faith is meant to be passed on relationally — adults sharing stories of God’s goodness with younger believers.

These words that I command you today shall be on your heart. And thou shall teach them diligently to your children...
(Deuteronomy 6:6–7)

This command forms the foundation of Christian education and mentorship — faith transmitted through daily life and conversation.

…we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…
(Ephesians 4:15–16)

Spiritual maturity is communal — believers grow together as each part of the body builds up the others.

He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.
(Colossians 1:28)

Mentorship aims at maturity — helping youth become adults who live out their faith confidently.

And what you have heard from me… entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.
(2 Timothy 2:2)

A model of generational discipleship — adults mentoring youth who will one day mentor others.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together…
(Hebrews 10:24–25)

Community relationships are essential for growth — youth learn adulthood through shared worship and fellowship.
