It has been quipped that the day of the annual Rummange Sale is the High Holy Day at TLC!
But seriously, it is a big day full of a lot of fun that requires preparation and people resources to make a success.
Planning the annual rummage sale starts months in advance deciding such things as the date, logistics, command structure, and more.
Preparations start the Sunday before after worship services when congration members start bringing their treasures to be sold.
Meanwhile, the Rummage Sale Crew starts setting up tables and racks. and setting up flows and decorations within the church.
During the week crew members are busy organizing and pricing items.
The day of the event is a call to All Hands On Deck as crew members (and any other new recruits) man the tables and assist buyers who have been waiting in line in the dark an hour before the event opens.
The rest of the morning is filled with fun and anticipation as newfound treasures walk away and dollars roll in to fund both TACO and our ministries at TLC.
With lunch being served, the crew in the afternoon then bring all unsold merchandise to the front and donate it to the charity trucks waiting for the goodies. Tables and racks are dissambled and stored for next year as the campus gets cleaned up and ready for Sunday morning worship the next day.
Being part of the Rummage Sale Crew is a fun way to
Meet fellow members
Do an act of service for the community
Donate to charity
Raise money for TLC ministries
Be Part of the Fun!!!
