The Nominating Committee of the congregation is established by the church constitution and bylaws and is presided over by a pastor of the congregation.

The Nominating Committee exists to find and nominate people for positions on the Congregation Council whenever current council members leave or for the next Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee typically consists of

• Senior Pastor(s)
  
• Outgoing council members
  
• Two additional laypeople who are members of the congregation
  

Anybody can be on the committee if they are leaving council or are nominated by a previous Nominating Committee.

People nominated by the Nominating Committee must be approved by vote at a congregation meeting.
